Welcome to LSU Uniforms

Updated: Sep 13

Every LSU fan knows that Tradition Matters. Tigers fans are well known for being hardcore traditionalists. We are incredibly proud of our history, culture, and teams. LSU Uniforms started to tap into the program's history and explore the decades of uniforms the Tigers have worn—way more to come.

Why Uniforms

I have always enjoyed creating teams and designing their uniforms since I received NCAA Football 05. I spent countless hours building teams for small towns in random cities in my giant book of maps of the United States. I started gaining this enjoyment for history, mainly military history, which will explain my undying love for the Silent Season uniforms. Fast forward to college, I interned with LSU Creative in 2016 briefly, but I was fortunate enough to learn more about LSU's branding, jokingly hating the 'Geaux Font.' Yet, the best part was knowing about the 2016 Gridiron Golds flipped a switch in me. That uniform ignited my love for the colors, logos, fonts, and things that tied history together. I started following Chad Fields (Vols Uniforms Boy); I liked Tennessee at this time, then Gator Uniforms, Auburn, Mississippi, etc. Seeing the fun of those guys inspired me to pursue this hobby.

Tracking Uniforms

I graduated in May 2020 with a degree in Graphic Design from LSU. Covid didn't help with the job search, so graphic design work was slow. I was looking for special projects to work on besides the small tasks I was doing for Marucci. I had always considered starting a uniform tracker for LSU, but since LSU doesn't change much, I wasn't sure how detailed it would become. I wasn't sure how big of a deal LSU fans cared about our uniforms. Now, baseball was season approaching, and Marucci released new bats; I gained some insights about them. The excitement about bats, baseball being my favorite, and sheer boredom led me to launch LSU Uniforms in February 2021.

Since 2021, I've tracked about every LSU sport besides Golf or Track and Field. It's a slow process; often, little information is out there, and pictures can be hard to find. I've been looking through old newspaper archives and Gumbo yearbooks to see old stuff. Life gets busy, so updating can be slow. This is where my favorite part comes in, and that involves the community. When I can, I love having people involved in this. We have some eagle eyes pointing stuff out many would miss; you have the people ready to stir the pot; my historians are prepared with historical facts and unhinged ideas that strike my nerve. Y'all make this enjoyable; I can not thank you all enough.
