Tiger Stadium was completed in 1924. It included the east and west stands, which seated about 12,000. In 1931, the sides were extended upward to accommodate an additional 10,000 fans, raising the capacity to 22,000.  Tiger Stadium then turned into a horseshoe configuration with an addition of 24,000 seats in the north end in 1936.
